Baz Bus is South Africa's favourite backpacker transport network and is a great alternative to car hire. The bus travels between Cape Town via the Garden Route to Port Elizabeth. The route continues along the coast through the Transkei to Durban. From here, passengers can choose to travel via Drakensberg to Johannesburg / Pretoria or via Swaziland and Nelspruit, near the Kruger National Park. WHAT IS BAZ BUS?

·        BAZ BUS is a unique hop-on hop-off, door-to-door bus service between the backpacking hostels around South Africa.

·        Passengers simply buy one ticket to their final destination and can get on and off as many times as they want, wherever they want, with no time limit.

·        Our busses are 19-seater semi-luxury busses, all with on-board TV & videos, and trailers capable of carrying surfboards and bicycles.

·        Currently we run in each direction between CAPE TOWN and JOHANNESBURG / PRETORIA with stops along the coast. From Durban, passengers have a choice of travelling either via the Drakensberg Mountains or via Swaziland.

FLEXIBILITY- Passengers are not limited to a fixed schedule and can plan their journey with as many stops as they'd like and stay as long as they want at each stop.

HOW OFTEN DOES BAZ BUS RUN?

This depends on the section of the route and applies in both directions:

*Our busses only run during the day, i.e. they leave Cape Town in the morning and arrive at Port Elizabeth in the evening. *Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Swaziland, Johannesburg (or Pretoria) are compulsory stopovers.

1.   BAZ BUS HOP-ON HOP-OFF TICKETS

With this ticket option, you can travel in one direction until you reach your final destination.  There is no time limit on your ticket! All tickets can be purchased for a one way or return.

2.   BAZ BUS TRAVEL PASSES

On a time limit? With the Travel Pass, you can travel on Baz Bus in any direction you want and as often as you like within the time period. The Travel Pass starts on the first day of your travel and is valid for 7 or 14 or 21 consecutive days.
